About us
At its heart, the story of Élevage du Ruisseau is a true love story — between passionate humans and exceptional dogs.
It all began in 2005 when Nancy locked eyes with a Weimaraner for the very first time. It was love at first sight. Shortly after, she welcomed Zelda into her life — a stunning female who quickly became her everyday companion. Though Zelda was spayed, she sparked an even deeper passion for this elegant and noble breed.
In 2009, Mario surprised Nancy with an unforgettable Christmas gift: Kenya, their first breeding female. That special moment marked the birth of Élevage du Ruisseau — a family-run kennel built on love, care, and dedication.
Located in the peaceful countryside just 40 minutes from Montreal, near the Ontario border, Élevage du Ruisseau sits on a large property surrounded by ancestral lands. The dogs enjoy the freedom to roam in a natural, healthy, and stimulating environment.
Whether you’re looking for a balanced family companion or a show-quality dog, our mission remains the same:
to raise dogs free of genetic issues, while upholding the highest breed standards.
And there’s more… That same year, Mario rekindled his long-time passion for Rough Collies — a breed he had previously bred for over a decade. He launched a new breeding program for these majestic dogs, adding another layer to the Élevage du Ruisseau legacy.
Today, Nancy and Mario live surrounded by their dogs, offering them a warm, loving family life where passion, quality, and animal well-being are at the core of everything they do.
All our dogs are carefully selected for their temperament and genetics.

We firmly believe in the quality of our breeding dogs and offer a written two (2) year guarantee against hereditary defects and serious illnesses.
The well-being of our dogs is truly important to us, and each one is an integral part of our family. Like one big family, we all live together, and our dogs are used to living with us in the house.
We would like to thank the breeders who trusted us by sharing their bloodlines.
